If you miss registration, you must sign a waiver of liability and can march in the Parade, but will not be judged.
ALL REGISTRANTS: Pick up your entry number at the booth across from Abby's Restaurant on Money Hill Road from 12:00-2:00 PM on July 4th. You must have a number to be judged.
RULES REMINDERS ... THIS IS A DRUG AND ALCOHOL FREE EVENT. GLOCESTER POLICE WILL BE ENFORCING THE LAWS AND PROVIDING SECURITY FOR THIS EVENT. PLEASE USE COMMON SENSE AND DECENCY IN PLANNING YOUR ENTRY AS THIS IS A FAMILY EVENT WITH MANY CHILDREN AMONG THE SPECTATORS. NO ENTRY MAY THROW, SPRAY, SHOOT, etc. ANY WATER, LIQUID, MUD OR OTHER MATERIAL AT THE SPECTATORS. ENTRANTS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR KEEPING THE STARTING AREA AROUND THEIR ENTRY CLEAN AT ALL TIMES. ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES MAY BE IN THE POSSESSION OF PARADE ENTRANTS. ANY MOTORIZED VEHICLE MUST BE OPERATED BY A LICENSED DRIVER. SUBMITTING THE REGISTRATION FORM ACKNOWLEDGES YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AND AGREEMENT TO THE ABOVE RULES. ANY VIOLATIONS WILL RESULT IN FORFEITURE OF ANY PRIZES AWARDED AND BEING BANNED FROM NEXT YEAR'S PARADE. LARGE FLOATS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE A FIRE EXTINGUISHER ON BOARD.

Entrants are not eligible to receive more than one award. All children participating in the parade will receive commemorative ribbons. THE FOLLOWING ENTRIES WILL COMPETE FOR 1ST, 2ND, AND 3RD PLACE TROPHIES. Entries are judged on originality of theme, costuming, special effects, construction, artistic work, and crowd appeal.

any float built on a flat bed trailer
Small Float:
any float built on a pick-up truck, pick-up with trailer, farm truck, farm truck with trailer
Patriotic Vehicle:
any vehicle with a patriotic theme
Walking Group:
any group of two or more people
Mobile Unit:
driven by an individual 16 years old or older; lawn tractor, lawn tractor with small trailer, van, motorcycle, group of motorcycles
Ugly Truck:
any farm, forest, or custom assembled UGLY vehicle
Decorated Bicycle:
any entry of one or more bicycles having a single theme
Classic Car:
any classic or antique car
Most Ancient:
any entry referring to, representing, or depicting anything old
Most Horrible:
any entry referring to, representing, or depicting anything horrible
Most Politically Incorrect:
any entry relating to a national or local political topic
Best Current Affairs:
any entry relating to a topic of interest in the local or national news
Funniest Overall:
any entry that's ... well, funny
Most Patriotic Walking:
any age group; must involve a patriotic theme
Parade Committee Award:
any entry the committee chooses to single out for our petty, subjective reasons
Best-In-Parade:
the most outstanding and crowd-appealing non-commercial entry
