A visible Resident Sticker is required on all vehicles.
- Permanent Stickers
are for those residents whose vehicles are registered in Glocester. Permanent Stickers may be obtained from the Highway Director's Office at 91 Chestnut Hill Road,
Glocester, RI Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or at the Transfer Station during regular hours. Permanent Stickers are no longer available at the Town Hall.
- Temporary Passes
are for those residents whose vehicles are not registered in Glocester. Temporary Passes may be obtained from the Highway Director's Office at 91 Chestnut Hill Road,
Glocester, RI Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Vehicle registration and proof of residency is required. Temporary Passes are no longer available at the Town Hall.
Recycling Policy Recycling is mandatory as of October 4, 1993. Maximum Recycling Program New recycling program implemented as of April 9, 2002.

Recycling receptacles are located at the Main Recycling Center, to the left as you enter the Transfer Station.
- Newspapers
- All newspapers, ads and inserts, mixed paper, mail, paperback books and magazines. Cardboard boxes and other corrugated cardboard.
- Bottles and Cans
- All glass bottles and jars, plastic soda bottles, plastic milk jugs and drink cartons. All should be rinsed clean to control odors and pests. All detergent, fabric softener and
bleach bottles, aluminum and tin cans, aluminum foil and pie plates.

Computers/Cell Phones/Air Conditioners - All computers and computer related hardware (i.e.,
printers, keyboards, modems, etc.), cell phones, cell phone batteries and air conditioners.
Solid Waste Receptacles
Solid waste receptacles are located at the Solid Waste Center, to the right as you enter the Transfer Station. Regular solid waste may include:
- diapers;
- couches (should be cut in half);
- carpeting (should be rolled and tied).
Special Receptacles
- Automotive Oil/Oil Filter Receptacle (at Main Recycling Center)
- Clothing Receptacle (at Main Recycling Center)
Miscellaneous (behind Solid Waste Center) There are various areas designated for disposal of automotive batteries, metals, large and small appliances, tires, and ashes.
Please Note: Effective November 1, 2001, tires, mattresses and appliances will be accepted on the 4th Saturday of each month only.
A $25.00 charge for each refrigerator or freezer only and a $15.00 charge for each mattress or boxspring is required. Proof of residency is required and verification may be requested. Yard Waste During certain times of the year, specific yard waste items may be accepted for disposal. Please read the
composting sign as to what is being accepted and when it may be dropped off. Yard waste includes leaves and pine needles, grass clippings, and Christmas trees. Your cooperation with composting these items is greatly appreciated.Items NOT Accepted The items listed below are not accepted at this facility. These types of materials should be brought to the
Central Landfill in Johnston or handled by a private contractor equipped for the safe disposal of said items.

- materials such as sheetrock, shingles, plaster, wood of any kind, asbestos;
- propane tanks;
- oxygen tanks;
- acetylene tanks;
- nitrous oxide tanks.
