The Town of Glocester has an immediate vacancy for a Clerk in the office of the Town Clerk in Town Hall in Chepachet.  Under general supervision, this position performs computerized and manual clerical functions and handles walk-in requests.  The principal task is as the elections/voter clerk, but cross training is required as all office functions are shared and employees may be required to perform any function as a secondary or principal task. The position requires the ability to complete the implementation and maintenance of state-mandated computer databases and procedures.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, reliability and customer-service orientation, general office experience, fluency in English, proficiency in computerized systems, familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and WordPerfect, which is used in some legacy documents.

We offer a starting wage of $22.59 to $23.59 depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefit plan that includes 15 paid holidays, paid vacation and paid sick leave, medical and dental insurance plans and inclusion in the Municipal Employees Retirement System pension plan.

The Town of Glocester is seeking a part-time Kitchen Aide in its Senior Center in Chepachet.  This is a Monday through Friday position, 27.5 hours per week, from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. and does not include holiday work.  There are about four evening or Saturday events during the year.  Hourly wage $13.00 to $14.00 depending on experience.

Duties include kitchen and food service functions associated with serving meals, food safety and maintaining the a clean and safe kitchen environment in compliance with Rhode Island Department of Health standards.  Some food preparation is required.  The Senior Aide performs other administrative duties in the absence of the Director.

The job requires a high school diploma or equivalent, obtaining a Food Safety Certification within six months of hire, excellent interpersonal skills, written and spoken fluency in English and the ability to make basic arithmetic calculations and record the results.  Experience in a senior center or food service environment is preferred.

Position Summary:  Under general supervision, the foreman is required to lead other employees to assist them in completing their assigned work.  The foreman performs skilled and unskilled labor and operates heavy and Iight department equipment for a wide range of highway department operations including but not limited to repairs, construction and paving of roads, maintaining town parks and snow and ice removal. The employee is required to perform all similar or related duties as directed by the department head. The Foreman reports to Director of Public Works. Compensation and benefits are in accordance with the NAGE collective bargaining agreement.
